Supporting the Legacy. Supporting Mrs. Choi Chun-Hi.
This page is dedicated to the memory of General Choi Hong Hi, the founder of Taekwon-Do, and to the financial support of his widow, Mrs. Choi Chun-Hi.
To honor General Choi’s life of sacrifice, service, and global impact, Taekwondo Times will donate 10% of all digital sales to Mrs. Choi.
We at Martial Arts Maniacs are proud to stand behind this powerful gesture. Legacy matters. Gratitude matters.
Now It's Your Turn to Make an Impact
Let’s be honest—some of you wouldn’t be wearing the belt you have today if it weren’t for General Choi Hong Hi. His vision, his sweat, and his unwavering belief in Taekwon-Do built the foundation we all train on.
He didn’t do it for recognition. He didn’t do it for wealth.
He did it because he believed this martial art could change the world—and it did.
He spent his life traveling to more than 200 countries, reaching over 90 million people,
planting seeds of discipline, peace, and self-respect across the globe.
Since his passing in 2002, Mrs. Choi Chun-Hi has quietly carried the weight of his legacy—with limited resources and little support.
Now it's our time. The Taekwon-Do community can step forward and give back.

A Message from Mrs. Choi Chun-Hi
Her First—and Final—Public Tribute to Her Husband
Good morning. Thank you, and welcome.
I’m honored to be with you for this meaningful occasion. We are united by Taekwon-Do.
People speak today of living to 100. My husband would have turned 100 this year.
How much more joyful this event would be if he could be here with us.
I married a very special man, and he lived an extraordinary life. Our family life was unlike most—stormy at times, but rich with purpose.
My husband gave everything to Taekwon-Do. Day in and day out, he spoke only of the art he loved. Even our family didn’t always understand.
When I remember him now, I feel regret that I didn’t support him fully. But I also feel deep pride.
His dream to share Taekwon-Do with the world was not entirely fulfilled. But our son, Joong Wha Choi, is continuing the mission. Despite challenges in the global Taekwon-Do community, he walks his father’s path.
I ask you to support him, to encourage him, and to carry on this legacy with him.
Thank you for being part of this important event.
I believe my husband is smiling down on all of us.
God bless you.
